LITERATE ADOLESCENTS INTERVENTION PROGRAM
The Literate Adolescents Intervention Program (LAIP) offers a one-year multi-component reading intervention for older struggling readers. LAIP's instructional strategies are evidenced-based, explicit and systematic. LAIP materials, developed in collaboration with secondary classroom teachers, are carefully selected to engage adolescent learners.
LAIP is based on a model demonstration project implemented by California State University, Northridge in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Federally funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), LAIP is designed to improve the reading outcomes and the academic success of high school students with disabilities.
Additional support for product development was made available through the California Adolescents Literacy Initiative (CALI) Reads Project.
